Gambling machine mystery shopper exercise 2017

A second mystery shopper exercise, conducted in late 2016 has found that improvements have been made in how gambling venues prevent and minimise harm but more can be done. The purpose of the exercise was to provide a snapshot of how well venue staff in pubs, clubs and casinos identified and responded to signs of harmful gambling. The first mystery shopper exercise was in 2014. The exercise is part of a range of activities being undertaken by the Department in conjunction with the gambling sector, aimed at improving harm prevention and minimisation practice and promoting a ‘culture of care’ in gambling venues.
