Boxing and Wrestling Act 1981

The Department administers the Boxing and Wrestling Act 1981. Here is the list of associations approved by the Minister of Internal Affairs under section 4 of the Act to promote or approve contests.

Under the Act, approved associations are required to notify the Minister of Internal Affairs of any changes to the following:

  • the names and addresses of the officers involved in the management of your Association and the names of any other key persons who have significant influence over the operation of your Association’s affairs;
  • the constitution, articles and rules governing your Association;
  • the rules your Association use for promoting and conducting boxing events; and
  • any other information you believe is useful information about your Association and how it organises and operates boxing contests.

Failing to update the Minister on such changes may result in withdrawal of approval for your association.
