A reminder of tomorrow’s Free Webinar – Covid-19 and the 23 March Package of Announcements

Taituarā and LGNZ have scheduled a webinar with MBIE for 1pm on Thursday 31 March (tomorrow).  We encourage you to attend as there will be further discussion on the changes to the Covid Protection Framework Announced on 23 March

You can register for the webinar here https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_ERqvY2x-SwSU3gEgBWE4Bg

Changes to the Covid Protection framework from Monday 4 April

A reminder that on Monday at 11:59 pm there will no longer be a requirement for organisations to use vaccine passes. This will happen regardless of the traffic light setting.

The My Vaccine Pass requirements are being removed due to the high level of vaccinated New Zealanders and the features of the Omicron variant.

Councils are still able to use the MVP as an entry requirement after April 4 if they choose to, but it will no longer be a government requirement. Any councils that do choose to continue using MVP should reconsider their use in light of this change.

MBIE has provided updated advice on Vaccines and the Workplace.

The Public Service Commission has released updated guidance, it can be found here Public-Service-workforce-guidance-for-the-COVID-19-Protection-Framework.pdf (publicservice.govt.nz)

There will be an update on traffic light settings on Monday 4 April, and we will provide updated advice following this.

Changes to the traffic light settings will mean changes to capacity limits and we will ensure to update these as quickly as possible

Updated Guidance

The Local Government Response team is working to update our official guidance and will provide this as soon as we can. This will have all the relevant information relating to the changes to the Covid Protection Framework that occurred last week but also any further guidance relating to changes from April 4.
