1/11/2004

Five further audited results of DHB elections have been declared by Electoral Officers These are:

  • Lakes DHB (Office of Auditor-General (OAG) audited)
  • Counties-Manukau DHB (OAG audited)
  • Waitemata DHB (OAG audited)
  • Tairawhiti DHB (OAG audited)
  • Whanganui DHB (OAG audited)

The results of the following elections had already been declared.
  • Bay of Plenty DHB (OAG audited)
  • Capital Coast Health DHB (OAG audited)
  • Chathams Islands Council (OAG audit not required)
  • Dunedin City Council (OAG audited)

  • Matamata-Piako District Council (OAG audited)
  • Porirua City Council and Porirua Licensing Trust (OAG audited)
  • Wellington City Council (OAG audited)

All Council and Licensing Trust election results have now been declared. Ten DHBs remain to be declared. Work is continuing on processing and audit.

How long the processing and audit takes and the order in which results are released to Electoral Officers depends on the issues identified in each case. It is therefore still not possible to predict when further results will be available or in which order they will be produced, but the progress made since late last week is encouraging.

Requests for background information or news of progress can be made to Internal Affairs at any time.
