Helping Pacific community groups get a fair share of lottery funding
The Lottery Grants Board is calling for applications to its Pacific Provider Development Fund (the PPDF), established to help Pacific community groups get a fair share of lottery funding.
“The PPDF is designed to strengthen Pacific community groups’ ability to operate in an effective and accountable way and to improve their access to lottery funding,” Morag Woodley, Secretary of the Lottery Grants Board, said. “Pacific people, like all New Zealanders, should get a fair share of lottery funding.”
Department of Internal Affairs’ lottery advisors will work closely with Pacific community groups who are granted PPDF assistance to help them strengthen their management, governance and financial skills and resources. Training will be provided to address the specific needs identified for each of these groups.
“The PPDF aims to work alongside eligible Pacific community groups in a partnership approach that best enables those groups to succeed,” Morag Woodley said.
“Eligible Pacific community groups are welcome to apply for all types of lottery funding – the PPDF is only one option available to them.”
Pacific community groups are being invited to attend funding fono being held around the country in late November-early December to find out more about the PPDF. A list of the fono details is attached. PPDF information and application forms are available from www.dia.govt.nz at Pacific Provider Development or by calling 0800-824 824.
