Daylight Saving Starts Sunday 3 October

24/9/2004

New Zealand Daylight Time will begin on Sunday 3 October 2004 when 2.00 am Standard Time becomes 3.00 am Daylight Saving Time.

This is an opportune time to check your smoke alarms.

People may find it convenient to put their clocks forward by one hour before going to bed on Saturday 2 October.

Daylight Saving Time begins on the first Sunday in October and runs through until the third Sunday in March the following year. The annual time adjustment is made every year under the Daylight Time Order 1990.

Daylight Saving Time ends at 2.00 am Standard Time on Sunday 20 March 2005.
