Daylight saving starts Sunday 1 October

New Zealand daylight saving will begin on Sunday 1 October 2006 when 2.00 am becomes 3.00 am.

This is an opportune time to check your smoke alarms.

People may find it convenient to put their clocks forward by one hour before going to bed on Saturday 30 September.
