Funding expo for Palmerston North

13/4/2007

An expo to connect community groups and the public with funding agencies in their local area rolls into Palmerston North next month.

The Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) has organised the Palmerston North Community Funding Expo to inform people about the range of community funding opportunities in their area.

The Expo is being held at the Te Manawa Seminar Rooms and will be open to the public from 11am-7pm on Tuesday 1 May.

“The aim is to give community funders a human face and to provide an access point for groups in the Manawatu who want community funding advice,” says DIA’s Regional Operations Manager, Janice Roxburgh.

“Those attending the expo can discuss their funding needs and become informed about the range of funding options in the region.”

Organisations so far confirmed for the Expo include: Inland Revenue, Funding Information Service, DIA, Eastern and Central Trust, Trusthouse, Palmerston North City Council and the Ministry for Social Development.

The Palmerston North event is one of four funding expos being held by DIA around the lower North Island, with others being held in Levin, Taihape and Masterton.
