Where can I report other harmful online content?

Anonymous reporting

  • To anonymously report a crime or issue that is not urgent, visit the Crime Stoppers website or call for free on 0800 555 111.

New Zealand Police

  • New Zealand Police investigates reports of online child sexual exploitation, hate crimes, and other cybercrimes. To report a crime or issue that is not urgent, report to Police by visiting the 105 website or call for free on 105. Otherwise, call 111.

NetSafe

  • NetSafe investigates reports of harmful online content, such as bullying and harassment, image-based abuse, self-harm or suicide, misinformation, and other online harms; visit the reporting section of their website.

CERT

  • To report cyber security issues – report via CERT NZ’s website or by calling for free on 0800 CERT NZ (0800 2378 69) Monday to Friday 7am – 7pm.

Privacy Commissioner

  • To report privacy breaches – complete a privacy complaint via the Privacy Commissioner’s website.
