When you use a digital identity service — look for the accreditation mark.

The mark shows that the service provider has proven they meet the rules and regulations of the framework, and have been accredited by the Trust Framework Authority.

Terms of use

Terms of use of the Trust framework Authority accreditation mark for Trust Framework Providers.

General

The accreditation mark must only be used in relation to digital identity services which are currently accredited by the Trust Framework Authority.

The digital identity services in relation to which the accreditation mark is used must at all times comply with relevant legislation including the Digital Identity Services Framework Trust Act 2023, Digital Identity Services Trust Framework Regulations 2024, and Digital Identity Services Trust Framework Rules 2024 (as amended and/or replaced from time to time).

The Trust Framework Provider must not delegate or sublicence use of the accreditation mark.

There is no fee associated with use of the accreditation mark.

The Trust Framework Provider must not use the accreditation mark in a manner that is misleading or deceptive, or otherwise contrary to these terms of use, including any use of the mark or any similar sign, that would:

  • damage the integrity or reputation of the Digital Identity Services Trust Framework; and/or
  • dilute the distinctiveness of the accreditation mark.

Before using the accreditation mark for the first time or in a way that has not yet been approved by the Trust Framework Authority, the Trust Framework Provider must supply drafts of any new or different materials containing proposed use of the accreditation mark to the Authority for its review and approval. The Trust Framework Authority will check the proposed use against these terms of use. Amendments to proposed use of the accreditation mark may be required before approval is granted.

1. Visual guide

The accreditation mark must be used in its original dimensions, and orientation. The mark must never be stretched or warped.

The accreditation mark must be used in its original colours.

The Trust Framework Provider may use the colour or black and white version of accreditation mark. The colour variants are set out below:  

            

The accreditation mark must not be used in lieu of the Trust Framework Provider’s trade mark(s), or be used in conjunction with any of the Trust Framework Provider’s trade marks in such a manner as to be dominated by, or appear to be part of, those trade marks.

The Trust Framework Provider’s use of the accreditation mark must be accompanied by the Trust Framework Provider’s accreditation number and/or a hyperlink to the relevant entry on the Trust Framework Register.

When displaying the accreditation mark the Trust Framework Provider must ensure that no other graphic, text or colour encroaches on the minimum amount of clear space required to border the accreditation mark as set out below:

2. Record

The Trust Framework Provider must keep detailed records about their use of the accreditation mark.

The Trust Framework Provider will supply the Trust Framework Authority with the detailed records of its use of the accreditation mark on request.

These terms may be varied at any time.  Updated terms will be published on the Trust Framework Authority website.
